Protesters block roadway, claiming its construction compromises water quality

Port au Port Peninsula, NL – A group of protesters have blocked a road leading leading toward a wind power test site, claiming the purity of the local water supply is in danger. Crown land in the area has been identified as an ideal site for a future meteorological evaluation tower, but opponents say the construction of a roadway to the site is creating problems with the area’s supplemental water supply, rendering it unfit to drink.
